Course Description:

NAF-CON 300 builds upon foundational contracting knowledge, focusing on the core skills and competencies required for successful contract award. This course provides a comprehensive overview of critical processes including price analysis, negotiation planning, source selection, and understanding the protest process. Students will develop a fundamental understanding of these areas and gain practical skills applicable to NAF acquisitions. Course topics include:

  • Conducting effective price analysis to ensure fair and reasonable pricing.
  • Development of negotiation plans to achieve optimal contract terms.
  • Apply sound source selection methodologies to identify the best value offer.
  • Understand the process of managing disagreements and resolving disputes.
  • Recognize and respond to potential protests, ensuring compliance and protecting the integrity of the acquisition process.

Target Audience:

NAF Contracting workforce members within the job series 1101 and 1102.

Course Structure:

This in-residence course combines interactive lectures, practical exercises, case studies, and group discussions to reinforce learning.  Some pre-course work may be required.

Course Length: 8 days, plus pre-course work

Prerequisites: NAF-CON 200: Contract Pre-Award
